Artist Research: Moebius (Jean Giraud)

There are a lot of pictures for this one, so i'll keep the words minimal.

Moebius was a major earthshaker in the world of comics and is probably [at least partially] why comics today are visually rich, rather then the art being treated as secondary and boring. His methods of working were various and adaptable, though i note the often prominence of a school from french comic artists (and there are a few of these stylistic schools, apparently) Ligne Claire (clear line; "Strong lines with uniform importance" and color fields beneath). Hyper rich color and texture and depth regardless of this.

Moebius was interested in new-age thinking, which is pretty obvious in his works. Psychedelic is a word both often applied to his work and extremely fair.

Reasons why this work excites me: Color and line, of course. Narrative elements and clarity of elements. Immersion; you can't help get sucked in by these works. The worlds he depicts clearly exist outside the picture plane. construction of environments. composition in general. psychedelic construction and color.

I'm pretty sure most of hte following are by him (it's sometimes hard to tell because his website only has a shop, and he is so extremely influential.)
